"One of the things I've learned over the years is that gut health is rarely just about digestion. Time and again, I've seen how improving gut health can positively influence energy, immunity, skin health, mood and overall wellbeing. That's why I believe understanding the gut is often one of the most important steps towards better health."
— Garima Pandey

Understanding Gut Health
Your gut does far more than digest food.

Your digestive system is home to a remarkable community of over 40 trillion microorganisms, collectively known as the gut microbiome. Together with your digestive tract, these microorganisms play a vital role in breaking down food, absorbing nutrients and supporting many of the body's essential functions.

Modern research has shown that gut health extends far beyond digestion. The gut communicates continuously with the brain through the gut–brain axis and plays an important role in maintaining normal immune function. In fact, a significant proportion of the body's immune cells are located within tissues associated with the digestive tract, highlighting the close relationship between digestive health and overall wellbeing.

When the balance of the gut microbiome is disrupted, or when organisms such as Helicobacter pylori or Candida albicans become overrepresented, some people may experience symptoms such as bloating, excessive gas, acid reflux, food sensitivities, constipation or irregular bowel habits. Emerging research also suggests that the gut microbiome may influence energy levels, mood and immune regulation, although these relationships are complex and continue to be actively studied.

The Gut Rebalance Detox

The body has an incredible ability to restore balance when supported with the right nutrition, lifestyle and therapeutic interventions. Our Digestive Reset Programme is built on this principle.

Rather than following a standard detox protocol, every programme is individually designed after a comprehensive consultation. By understanding your health history, symptoms, lifestyle and personal health goals, we create a personalised programme that draws on the principles of Functional Medicine, Naturopathy and Ayurveda to rebalance your gut.

Why a Gut Rebalance Detox could be a good option for you:

  • If you are aiming to feel lighter after a period of continuous unhealthy eating (for example – After a festive season or holidays)
  • If You are looking to take a small break from your usual exercise & high protein routine or you want to feel more calm, peaceful and rejuvenated
  • If you have extra weight accumulation around the hips and belly
  • If you experience sluggish bowel movements
  • If you bloat/ belch after meals
  • Have very dry/ itchy skin
  • Suffer from aches and pains of unknown reasons
  • Get Brain fog

What does Gut Rebalance Detox involve:

We divide the short detox into 4 steps:

Step One – Consultation: An Integrative consultation (can be done remotely over the phone) where we will:

Provide you with a detailed explanation of the plan with a complete dietary protocol, recipes & grocery lists

Plan a herbal protocol based on your current imbalances and your specific health needs. We aim to maximise the benefits from the detox with a few herbal food supplements. We will mainly prescribe herbs focusing on mobilising the stagnant lymph, pulling toxins to the gut and packaging them for a safe elimination.

  • Plan specific yoga and breathing practices specially designed for you based on your current doshic imbalance.
  • Provide you a pack of herbs recommended during consultation.
  • (We would always be in touch with you during the whole detox to assist with any queries, recipes etc.)

Step Two –Pre-detox phase: The pre-detox phase lasts for 3 days, during which:

You will need to take herbal food supplements as advised by the practitioners. These herbs will help you kindle the digestive fire and promote lymphatic circulation. All these herbs are excellent prebiotics and prepare the gut for the next step – the actual detox phase.

PYou will need to switch to a balanced vegetarian diet based on red and green vegetables which have properties to mobilise lymph and loosen up any stagnation of accumulated toxins.

Our Services

Step Three – Detox Phase: After the pre-detox phase, you are now completely ready for the detox. This phase lasts for 4 days.

During this phase you will be

  • Taking prescribed herbal supplements
  • Drinking prescribed dosage of herb infused ghee every morning
  • On a special hydration protocol
  • Eating extremely healing and rejuvenating vegetarian meals
  • Doing self-body massage with prescribed herbal oil
  • Taking gentle, natural laxative on fourth day of detox

During this phase your metabolism is reset and a significant amount of toxins are flushed out of your system. Every little detail will be shared with you during phase one.

Step Four– Post-detox phase: This phase is equally as important as the previous ones and lasts for 3 days. During this time period the dietary and herbal protocol will be the same as the pre-detox phase. As you can imagine, by now your gut has been re-booted and ready to support you in your daily lifestyle better. However, we just need to take one final step – the recolonising probiotic regimen. This includes replenishing your gut flora that has just been scrubbed during detox phase.

ShriAsha’s home based detox is an excellent way to reboot and strengthen thedigestive system and can be done four to six times a year. It is a very effective natural process to support the intestinal lining and microbiome, decongest the lymphatic system and reset the body’s natural ability to detoxify itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a long-term functional digestive disorder, and there is currently no single treatment that cures it for everyone. However, many people are able to manage their symptoms successfully and experience significant improvements in their quality of life.

At ShriAsha Integrative Health Clinic, we take a personalised approach to IBS. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, we work with you to understand the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. This may include exploring your diet, stress levels, sleep, lifestyle, gut microbiome and medical history.

Depending on your individual circumstances, we may also recommend advanced functional testing, such as GI Mapping, where clinically appropriate.

Our aim is to help you better understand your digestive health and develop a personalised plan that supports long-term symptom management and overall wellbeing.

Not necessarily. Many digestive health concerns can be understood through a detailed consultation that explores your symptoms, medical history, diet, lifestyle and previous investigations.

Where appropriate, we may recommend additional testing to help build a clearer picture of your digestive health. This could include reviewing existing NHS blood tests, requesting further investigations through your GP, or recommending advanced functional testing, such as GI Mapping, when it is clinically appropriate and likely to provide useful information.

We believe that testing should have a clear purpose. Rather than recommending investigations routinely, we only suggest them when the results are likely to help guide your personalised treatment plan.

Not always. Supplements are not the starting point for everyone and are never prescribed as a one-size-fits-all solution.

At ShriAsha Integrative Health Clinic, we begin by understanding your symptoms, diet, lifestyle, medical history and, where appropriate, any relevant test results. In many cases, improvements can be achieved through personalised nutrition, lifestyle changes and healthy daily habits.

Where supplements may be beneficial, we recommend them based on your individual needs and the best available evidence. Our aim is to keep recommendations targeted, purposeful and practical, rather than asking you to take unnecessary products.

Any supplement recommendations are reviewed regularly and adjusted as your health needs change.

Yes. Our approach is designed to complement, not replace, the care you receive from your GP or medical specialist.

We recognise the important role of conventional medicine in diagnosing, treating and managing many health conditions. At ShriAsha Integrative Health Clinic, we focus on supporting your overall health through personalised nutrition, lifestyle medicine, evidence-informed natural therapies and, where appropriate, Functional Medicine principles.

If you are taking prescription medication or receiving treatment from your GP or hospital specialist, we take this into careful consideration when developing your personalised health plan. We also encourage you to continue attending your regular medical appointments and following the advice of your healthcare team.

Our goal is to work alongside conventional healthcare, helping you better understand your health and supporting your long-term wellbeing through a safe, collaborative and integrative approach.

There is no fixed number of appointments, as every person's health, symptoms and goals are different.

Your first consultation is a comprehensive assessment where we take time to understand your health history, current concerns and the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Together, we'll discuss a personalised plan and recommend an appropriate follow-up schedule based on your individual needs.

Some people may only require a few consultations to achieve their goals, while others with more complex or long-standing health concerns may benefit from ongoing support over a longer period.

Our aim is to provide the right level of support for you—reviewing your progress regularly and adapting your plan as your health improves. We believe in empowering you with the knowledge and tools to manage your health with confidence, rather than encouraging unnecessary appointments.

Yes, we can support children with certain health concerns. Every child is unique, and we carefully consider their age, symptoms and individual needs before recommending any approach.

Children require a different approach to adults, and any recommendations are tailored accordingly. Where appropriate, we work alongside your child's GP or paediatric specialist to ensure care is safe, coordinated and in the child's best interests.

If you're considering an appointment for your child, we recommend booking a free 15-minute Discovery Call so we can discuss your concerns and advise whether our clinic is the right fit.

Yes. We offer both online and in-person consultations, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your needs and circumstances.

For some health concerns, an in-person consultation may be more appropriate. If this is the case, we'll discuss the available options with you and help you decide which type of appointment is most suitable.

Whether you choose to see us online or in person, you'll receive the same high standard of personalised, evidence-informed care.
