Frequently Asked Questions

Integrative Medicine looks at your health as a whole rather than focusing on individual symptoms in isolation. It considers how factors such as nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, lifestyle, environment and emotional wellbeing may be influencing your health.

The aim is to understand the wider picture and develop a personalised approach that supports your overall wellbeing.

Your first consultation is an opportunity for us to understand you, not just your symptoms. We explore your health history, current concerns, nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, lifestyle and other factors that may be relevant.

This helps us build a more complete picture of your health and identify areas that may benefit from further attention or support.

Not necessarily. We begin with a detailed consultation and review any recent test results you may already have.

Where appropriate, we may suggest discussing further investigations with your GP or another healthcare professional. Additional testing may also be considered when it can provide useful information to guide your personalised plan.

Yes. Our approach is designed to complement appropriate medical care, not replace it.

If you are taking prescribed medication or receiving treatment from your GP or specialist, we encourage you to continue doing so. Where relevant, our recommendations can be developed with your existing medical care in mind.

Functional Medicine uses established knowledge of physiology, nutrition and lifestyle medicine while taking a more personalised and systems-based view of health.

At ShriAsha, we aim to use evidence-informed approaches while recognising the value of traditional practices where appropriate. Recommendations are considered in the context of the individual rather than applying the same approach to everyone.

There is no fixed number because every person's health journey is different.

Some people come to us for guidance around a specific concern, while others have more complex or long-standing symptoms and benefit from ongoing support. Following your initial consultation, we can discuss what level of follow-up may be appropriate for you.

We work with people experiencing a range of ongoing health and wellbeing concerns, including those relating to digestive health, immune and inflammatory health, stress and nervous system health, hormonal health, metabolic health and persistent pain or reduced wellbeing.

Rather than treating a diagnosis in isolation, we look at the different factors that may be influencing how you feel and function.

You don't need to know exactly what kind of support you need before contacting us.

If you have questions about our approach or whether it may be suitable for your circumstances, you can book a discovery call. It gives you an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and understand how we work before deciding whether to proceed.
